Williams Cycling is Ready to start the year off with a bang

Williams Racing Presented by Southern California Velo

The Southern California Velo club is proud to welcome Williams Cycling as the title sponsor for their Elite Mens Cycling team. The team will focus on Southern California races, the USA Cycling Road and Criterium championships, as well as select National Racing Calendar events. The 6 riders on the team will be Jeremiah Wiscovitch, Kyle Gritters, Curtis Gunn, Brandon Gritters, Nate Deibler and Joshua Webster. The riders are eager to race together and combine their strengths in 2010. They know one another well and have connections as past teammates or past competitors. Kyle Gritters, Webster, and Wiscovitch raced together in 2009 on Southern California Velo. Wiscovitch won multiple races with the help of Webster and Gritters, including the SCNCA Elite “State” road race championship as well as the season long SCNCA SoCalCup points series. The 2010 team will be a reunion for ex Seasilver teammates, Wiscovitch, Gunn and Kyle Gritters. Brandon Gritters and Nate Deibler are ex teammates from the infamous 5 Star Fish/WVO team out of the San Diego area. The Williams Racing team will give the Gritters brothers, known for helping each other out in Southern California races, their first opportunity to race as teammates on the road.

Williams Racing will ride Cannondale bicycles, a longtime sponsor of Southern California Velo, with Shimano components. Incycle bike shops will also sponsor the team. Other sponsors include Giro, Hammer Nutrition, Sockguy, Smith optics and Serfas bicycle products.

Williams Racing will provide Williams Cycling with an opportunity to showcase their wheels under a team of established Category 1 racers. The team will also provide Southern California Velo opportunities to accomplish multiple goals outlined by the club including: competing at all levels of bicycle racing, and building a sponsor’s brand recognition within the cycling and regional communities. Team members will also accomplish another goal of the club, to develop junior racers and advance junior racing, by mentoring junior riders from the club at weekly training rides and races.
